How to Remove Cyber Security

I recently received a call from a client who got a popup telling them their security was out of date and they would need to upgrade to protect their computer. So of course the popup looked convincing enough so they clicked the upgrade now link. The program however is that pesky Cyber Security Spyware that constantly taunts the user with pop-ups wanting them to buy there program for $59.99 . Many users know Cyber Security predecessors too; System Security 2009 and Total Security 2009 applications ring a bell? As they too are very annoying and sometimes very awkward to remove from your computer as well as each program has its own unique install and registry hook.

Turning Off Vista’s Built-In CD Burning

Since most computers come with 3rd party programs that are easier to use than Vista’s CD/DVD burning,  you can turn this off with a simple registry edit.

Searching a Folder Windows Vista

Defrag the Hard Drive an Optimize

How to Edit the Boot.ini file Windows XP

There can be many reasons why you need to edit the Boot.ini file, my personal favorite is to remove programs that I don’t use or want installed on my Windows XP like that pesky MSN Messenger.

The boot.ini file is a simple text file that is on the root of the boot drive.
You can edit this with any plain text editor like Notepad (may need to unhide the file first)
