How to Rename all Files With one click!
Tips & Hints Posted by Shawn DesRochers August 30th, 2007Have you ever downloaded a lot of images to your “My Picture folder,” or exported them from your digital camera and wished there was an easier way to rename all them at once? Well here is how, this comes in especially handy when you have just downloaded avatars, emoticons or digital images off your Sony Camera
When you download or export photos from your digital camera, they often have long formatted names like DSC00125.jpg etc. You can rename several or more files at once with the following procedure.
This also works for renaming other types of files as well.
To rename all selected files at once!
- Open the folder you wish to rename the image files.
- Next select the files you want to rename by either going file edit -> select all or right click with your mouse and from the popup-menu select all.
- Then select File from the top of the browser and, click Rename.
- Type the new name, and then press ENTER.
Now depending on how many images you selected it may take a few moments! Once complete, the first will be named Your File and the rest will be renamed in the following sequence Your File (1), Your File (2), etc.
Have fun!
