Internet Explorer - Can’t save images as JPEG?
Internet Explorer Tips Posted by Shawn DesRochers August 30th, 2007Many users have difficulty with their browser over a period of time. One of the most common issues is trying to save images through your browser but it wants to save them as bitmap, which is not the correct extension of the file yet you have no other options available. How does one get around this problem?
This is usally caused by system resources running low or a previouse browser that didn’t close properly or maybe crashed while you where surfing the web.
Either way you can’t save files a JPEG’s becuase your computer only reconizes the file as a bitmap.
Try the following steps
- Try emptying your Temporary Internet Files, by right clicking on Internet Explorer on your desktop and select properties from the popup menu -> to bring up the ”Internet Options Screen.”
- If you don’t have an Internet Explorer Icon on your desktop. Open your browser the way you normally would and from the top menu select -> Tools -> Internet Options - > Delete temporary internet files, history, cookies, saved passwords and web form information.
If the above option didn’t work, try clicking on the Settings button under the Internet Options screen and click the “View Objects button,” and remove any files that show as “Damaged or Unknown”.
If your Internet Explorer no longer allows you to save graphics as JPEGs
Go to Tools -> Options and click on the “Advanced tab,”
In the Security section at the bottom, uncheck the following -”Do not save encrypted pages to disk“.
