How to lock file Associations on your computer

  1. Go to Start - > Run and type Regedit
  2. Use the “+” sign on the left of the Registry editor to navigate to the following
  3. HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explore
  4. Right click on the right hand side and select Create REG_DWORD data type NoFileAssociate
  5. Then give it a value of 1.
