How to Speed Up the Display of Start Menu Items
Windows XP Tips Posted by Shawn DesRochers September 23rd, 2007Some users of Windows XP find that clicking the start button to bring up the menu is slow or non-responsive right away.
An easy way to speed up the start menu display items is to turn off the menu shadow.
To turn of menu shadow – follow the instructions below
- Right click on your Desktop, in an open area no icons or folders
- Select Properties
- Click on the Appearance tab
- Click on the Effects button
- Uncheck Show shadows under menus
This will increase the performance of the start menu items and allow you to use your computer more effectively.
