How to Prevent your Start Menu from being Changed

Whether it’s your office computer that you share with co-workers or your home computer that you and your kids use, you will appreciate this little hack to prevent your start menu from being changed.

To protect your start menu from being changed, apply the following steps.

  1. Go to Start -> Run -> and type Regedit
  2. To navigate through the registry editor use the “+” sign.
  3. HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer
  4. Right click on the right snd select Add a DWORD called NoChangeStartMenu
  5. Next give it a value of 1
