Click read more to find out how to repair the TCP/IP file in Windows Vista!

If you have any of the following symptoms you have a damaged TCP/IP file.

  1. Using the LAN repair function resulted in Failed to query tcp/ip settings for the connection. Cannot proceed.
  2. LAN Support tab contained no data at all.
  3. The network status constantly showed “Network cable unplugged”.
  4. “unable to query host name” being generated when issuing the ipconfig command.
  5. Could not start the ICS service.

If you suspect you have corrupted TCP/IP files, run the following:

netsh interface ipv4 reset

netsh interface ipv6 reset

Then reboot your computer.
