There are still a few users out there using Windows ME that may find this tip useful. Unlike other Microsoft Windows operating system predecessors you can run “scanreg” within the Windows ME platform. There is no need to reboot your computer to get in to DOS command.

Click read more to find out how to run scanreg with Windows ME.

  1. Go to StartRun – Type: cmd and click OK
  2. This will launch the cmd line for DOS screen
  3. You can now type scanreg / scanreg/restore or scanreg/opt

When scanreg completes it will tell you — your computer must restart to finish.
