Click read more to find out how to repair the TCP/IP file in Windows Vista!
If you have any of the following symptoms you have a damaged TCP/IP file.
- Using the LAN repair function resulted in Failed to query tcp/ip settings for the connection. Cannot proceed.
- LAN Support tab contained no data at all.
- The network status constantly showed “Network cable unplugged”.
- “unable to query host name” being generated when issuing the ipconfig command.
- Could not start the ICS service.
If you suspect you have corrupted TCP/IP files, run the following:
netsh interface ipv4 reset
netsh interface ipv6 reset
Then reboot your computer.
