I recently received a call from a client who got a popup telling them their security was out of date and they would need to upgrade to protect their computer. So of course the popup looked convincing enough so they clicked the upgrade now link. The program however is that pesky Cyber Security Spyware that constantly taunts the user with pop-ups wanting them to buy there program for $59.99 . Many users know Cyber Security predecessors too; System Security 2009 and Total Security 2009 applications ring a bell? As they too are very annoying and sometimes very awkward to remove from your computer as well as each program has its own unique install and registry hook.

Q. But I didn’t click a link or anything how did I get Cyber Security on my computer?

A. In most cases, you can infect your computer with Cyber Security after you browse some random sites and hit fake alert pages by accident. However, it might also sneak onto your machine though downloader Trojans.

Q. Why is Cyber Security so hard to remove if its a rogue program?

A.  As soon as Cyber Security is on your computer, it copies registry values to the Windows Registry usually under other names or no name / value at all. The it copies and registers .DLL’s and some other directories in order to be able to hinder the uninstall process.

Q. How do I know if I have Cyber Secuirty?

A. Cyber Security starts displaying simulated malware detection messages including pop-up adds, as well as fake security scanners. All of this is created in order to convince the computer user that the only way out of this trouble is to buy the paid version of the application.

So not true you can remove Cyber Security by following these instructions below; I have provided three methods simply choose the one that best fits your computer skills.
