Howto Back Up Your ISP Settings

Saturday, August 13, 2011 23:35

If you can’t remember your isp settings or just want a quicker way to reinstall them after a fresh OS install all you have to do to save your ISP settings (name, phone, login id etc.) for future installations is the following:

  1. Start Regedit
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ RemoteAccess
  3. Select Registry / Export Registry
  4. Make sure Selected branch is checked
  5. For the name, enter any name that will help you remember the purpose of the .reg file

Now if you need to restore your ISP settings after a new installation of Windows, you just need to import this file by double clicking the .reg file and select yes to import it into the registry when prompt.
